Election Emergencies – Voting in the Eye of the Storm
February 19 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
Please join us for a first-of-its-kind, non-partisan event on Wednesday, February 19th: Election Emergencies – Voting in the Eye of the Storm.
This half-day conference will bring together a select high-level group of policymakers, legal experts and civic leaders. We will share a list of other participants and exciting speakers as the program gets closer.
It is clear that our nation is facing more and more catastrophic storms and weather events. The conference will explore policy prescriptions, messaging best practices, and the interplay between the executive and legislative branches in the face of crises. The goal is to discuss best practices for future election administration in the face of increasingly impactful weather disasters.
We hope this dialogue can play a part in strengthening trust in our electoral systems for all American voters and the county and state officials tasked with administering elections.
We will share a list of other participants and exciting speakers as the program gets closer.
This will be on the record with national journalists attending.
Please RSVP using the link below by Wednesday, February 12th. Should you have further questions about the program’s logistics, please let Duke’s Eric Shipley (eric.shipley@duke.edu) know. Workshop invitations are non-transferrable.
